RUMOR: 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' To Have A Post Credit Scene/Teaser!?!

By Matt O'Bryant

What's up guys and gals,

Now, this is still just a rumor, but its a pretty cool one!  A good friend of EastCoastMovieGuys Mr. Kristian Harloff who is one half of SchmoesKnow let the world know first on Jedi Council yesterday and then later on that afternoon on the SchmoesKnowMovieShow that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will feature a post credits scene and teaser trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!   Harloff said that he had been told by a very trusted source of his, that there will be a post credit scene and teaser at the end of every Star Wars film from here on out, and that this individual has had inside information before that had proved to be correct.

Now after initially hearing Harloff make this announcement I was really excited about the idea of a teaser trailer for Rogue One at the end of The Force Awakens, because of the simple fact that it would be more Star Wars  stuff to talk about, speculate about, and to go just crazy about.  After thinking about the prospect for a little while now, and hearing some of the other SchmoesKnow crew's thoughts on the subject, I'm not so sure I really want a teaser trailer at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Right now in Hollywood the cool thing to do is to have a post credits scene at the end of your big blockbuster movie and its really Marvel Studios which is owned by Disney who started the whole post credit scene era.  So its no surprise that this is possibly happening with Star Wars, because Disney owns Star Wars now.

The big issue here is that in the 30 plus years of Star Wars we have never had a post credit scene or teaser trailer, and having one breaks a long held tradition with the Star Wars Saga. Now mainstream audiences will love it and rejoice at the end of each film and it may very well be a great marketing idea, but on the flip side many hardcore Star Wars Enthusiast will not like the idea.

So what do you guys and gals, the readers think?  Should their be a post credits scene?  Does it really matter?  Let us know your thoughts below in the comments section!
