John Boyega Says 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Will Be A Much Darker Film Than 'The Force Awakens'
By Matt O'Bryant
Actor John Boyega who plays Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is currently in the process of preparing for his next outing as the stormtrooper turned good guy in Star Wars: Episode VIII which will hit theaters in 2017.
Recently the actor spoke to VOGUE about his role in the next chapter of Star Wars, revealing some little tidbits about the tone of the film explaining that episode will be a much darker film the Episode VII was and his physical preparation for the role.
“[The script is] great. Much darker, but we’re very excited… My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more.”
Speaking of the more physical role, I wonder how Finn's role will expand in Episode VIII, will he be part cyborg now, since we all saw Kyle slash straight through Finn’s spine at the end of The Force Awakens. Also in my personal opinion I believe we will come to find out Finn has Force powers and will eventually become a jedi down the road in Episode VIII. Also I'm so excited for director Rain Johnson’s darker style of filmmaking and ready to see how dark he is gonna take Episode VIII.
So what do you the readers think? Are you pumped for the darker tone? Will Finn turn out to be a force user? Sound off in the comments below and let us know.
Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on May 26th, 2017.
