By Aric Sweeny

What's up guys and gals,

Zoe Saldana, the actress who played Gamora in last year’s surprise mega hit Guardians of the Galaxy, has joined the cast of I Kill Giants.

According to TheHollywoodReporter:

Saldana will play the part of a school psychologist that forms a bond with Barbara Thorson, the main character of the story.

The story of I Kill Giants is relatively simple. It’s about a young girl named Barbara Thorson, who is a social outcast due to the fact that she likes geeky things like Dungeons and Dragons. She takes her passion for giants and monsters too far, and is convinced that giants are coming, and she must stop them when they show up.

I Kill Giants was a limited comic book series published by Image Comics back in 2008. It was written by Joe Kelly and drawn by J. M Ken Niimura.  I Kill Giants is being directed by Anders Walter, written by Joe Kelly, and produced by Chris Columbus.

Director Anders Walter had this to say about Saldana's casting:

I’m thrilled to have the massively talented Zoe helping us bring Joe Kelly’s beautiful story to life, I couldn’t be more excited to see Mrs. Mollé, a kind, strong and incredibly inspirational character up on the big screen.
— Walter

Saldana is currently filming STAR TREK BEYOND which hits theaters on July 8th, 2016, I KILL GIANTS will begin production in early 2016.

Nothing else is known about the project, but keep your eyes peeled right here @ECMG for upcoming announcements about the film.
