While Jared Leto's first appearance as the legendary Joker in DC Extended Universe in last year's Suicide Squad is considered a divisive take on the classic character to say the very least. However, anytime an actor or actress makes a choice like that for a role and sticks to their guns, you've got to give them some credit.
That being said, we haven't heard much about the Joker since Suicide Squad ended its run late last Fall. Now, suddenly from the ashes of the interwebs, Leto has taken to his official Snapchat account to tease fans of his infamous return!
First being reported by the good folks over at Batman-News and Screenrant, it appears that the actor, just earlier today, has shared two intriguing images. One is a cropped close-up of the cover of Batman: The Killing Joke, a controversial 1988 comic starring the Joker, that was just recently adapted "not so well" into an R-rated animated film.
The second photo is what appears to be a human tooth turned into a pendant for a necklace. The tooth is capped with gold metal, and is sitting in a purple velvet box with Gucci printed on the inside.
While nothing has been confirmed at this point by Leto or Warner Bros. but the folks over at Screenrant believe that this suggest we'll most likely be seeing a lot more of The Joker than we previously thought. With the popular movie news site alluding to the fact that we could see The Joker pop up in the Ben Affleck's The Batman, or even more likely, director David Ayer's Gotham City Sirens.
Our bet is on Ayer's Gotham City Sirens, since it stars Margot Robbie as The Joker's puddin aka Harley Quinn. Could Sirens have a larger role in store for Jared Leto's The Joker than even the Suicide Squad ended up having? As a fan of the Leto's portrayal of The Joker, I certainly hope so!
So what about you guys and gals? What do you think Leto's hinting at? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts. As always, thanks for stopping by ECMOVIEGUYS!
