What’s happening movie fans??
Finally 20th Century Fox has announced a release date for the sequel to the popular film starring Taron Egerton and Colin Firth.
Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of the Mark Millar/Dave Gibbons graphic novel ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ became a surprisingly huge hit for Fox grossing over $128 million domestically on top of the $285 million overseas. Filled with nonstop action and laughs, Fox didn’t take long to announce a sequel set for a June 16, 2017 debut.
Vaughn has tinkered with the thought of directing the sequel and obviously we’ll see Taron Egerton reprise his role as Eggsy as a fully trained secret agent, but the big question is if and how they would bring back Colin Firth as Harry Hart/Galahad. Without any spoilers, let’s just say that would take some serious movie magic but Vaughn has already deviated from the original comic so there’s wiggle room for a different track.
This would be the second film to get the franchise treatment from one of Millar’s adaptations after Kick-Ass 2 which Vaughn did not return for.
We’ll keep all you Kingsmen and Kingswomen up to date!
Kingsman: Secret Service 2 hits theaters on June 16th, 2017.
