“Jack Reacher” has a sequel on the way.
Variety reports that Paramount and Skydance have hired Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick as screenwriters.
The film will be based on the Lee Child novel “Never Go back” where Tom Cruise’s character Jack Reacher goes to Virginia to meet a female military officer who has been assisting him via telephone. When he arrives, trouble brews.
Zwick is also a contender to direct the film. Zwick and Cruise partnered on 2003’s “The Last Samurai,” receiving a decent score of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes.
