'Prometheus' Sequel Gets An Official Release Date And Title!!

By Matt O'Bryant

What's up guys and gals,

Just a few months ago we were all getting excited about a Neil Blomkamp directed Aliens reboot/sequel.  Then just a few weeks ago after the overwhelming success of director Ridley Scott’s The Martian, things started to change.  Scott started talking about himself returning to helm a sequel to the Alien prequel film Prometheus and that if Blomkamp was going to do an Alien sequel, it would be long ways down the road after Scott's own sequel/prequel Prometheus 2.

Well now it's official director Blomkamp's Alien sequel is on definite hiatus, while Ridley Scott's Prometheus 2 is moving full steam aead.  With all that said, today we received an official announcement regarding the film from 20th Century Fox.

The Prometheus sequel and Alien prequel will officially be titled Alien: Covenant and will be released on October 6th, 2017. Along with this announcement, an official logo and synopsis for the film was released which we have for you below.

Leave us your thoughts on the logo and synopsis below in the comments section.

Official Logo & Synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant hits theaters on October 6th, 2017.
