With Black Panther currently destroying February box office records, Disney and Marvel Studios have decided to not take any chances with their next couple of big-time releases! In kind of a surprising last minute move, Marvel has now decided to change the release date for Avengers: Infinity War.
The fact that Marvel waited this long to make this move is the only thing surprising here. Avengers: Infinity War will literally have no competition on April 27th. Moving up a solid week from its original May 4th release date gives the mega blockbuster almost a month to clean up at the domestic box office before Disney's other little film Solo: A Star Wars Story is released on May 25th.
Adding another week between a Marvel film and a Lucasfilm is only a good thing for their parent company Disney. As most likely these two films will be the biggest of the Summer movie season.
