The first official trailer for Sony's standalone Venom film starring Tom Hardy is coming folks, and a lot sooner than we all thought! The Manitoba Film Classification Board has apparently officially classified the trailer for the upcoming Fall release.
According to Trailer Track, the trailer for Venom was not expected to arrive until sometime during the Spring, however, the trailer may now instead hit screens in time to run before Marvel’s Black Panther. Considering that we are starting to hear that Sony's Venom may connect closer to Marvel's Cinematic Universe than we originally thought, this make a lot of since considering the Sony and Marvel deal with Spider-Man world. So get ready for a Venom trailer folks!
The trailer will most likely drop this weekend as it is of course, Superbowl weekend, the weekend of teasers and trailers! If not this weekend than definitely by next week's end. The film also sports an impressive A-list cast with Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spider-Man expected to cameo, along with Michelle Williams, Scott Haze, Jenny Slate, and Riz Ahmed.
Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is directing the project from a script by Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji), Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) and Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey). Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal are producing.
Sony’s Venom film is a standalone Spider-Man spinoff with Hardy in the starring role of the reporter-turned-Spider-Man nemesis, Eddie Brock. The film has been confirmed to be an origin story for Venom with Carnage featured as the antagonist. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is rumored to appear.
Venom is set to hit theaters on October 5th, 2018.
