BREAKING: Casey Affleck Says Ben Affleck Is Not Doing Matt Reeves' 'The Batman'

Hold on to your butts!

It looks as though we may have some late breaking, almost, but not really kind of shocking news that Ben Affleck will not be continuing on as Bruce Wayne aka Batman in director Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) upcoming The Batman trilogy.

According to his one his closest, his own little brother, recent best actor Academy Award winner Casey Affleck, big brother Ben Affleck will close out his role as the legendary detective/crime fighter in this year's Justice League.

Speaking on WEEI Sports Radio to promote A Ghost Story, Casey Affleck talked about his brother’s performance and hinted that he wasn’t going to be starring in the solo Batman film. You can read his quote and see the video below.

“I thought he was an OK Batman. No, I thought he was great. He was great. He’s a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he’s not going to do that movie, I don’t think. Sorry to say. Is that breaking news? Because I was just kind of making that up, I don’t know.”

Amazingly you can watch the video below:

So obviously nothing is confirmed, but it's hard to discount Ben littler brother Casey when he states something like that, even though he followed it up with "making it up", it appears that Casey indeed knows something and let it slip quite casually before trying to backtrack slightly as if it was just some playful banter.

However, with months of on going speculations and rabid back fire positive and negative from fans, the fact that Casey would even utter those words is truly a troubling sign for any hopes of big brother Ben still playing The Batman after Justice League.
