Sony's Venom film is really starting to come along folks, first there was the announcement of the film itself and the fact that its most likely going to be an R-rated genre film, follow that with the unbelievable casting of Tom Hardy as Venom. Follow that with the huge bombshell from a few days ago that the film will be part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe and there's a chance Tom Holland's Spider-Man is involved, wow!
As if all that wasn't enough to blow your freaking minds and get you out of this world stoked for a Venom film. We now have news that the film will feature one of the most legendary Marvel/Spider-Man villains ever!
According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the film will feature the first big-screen adaptation of Cletus Kasady, a.k.a the villainous Carnage! No word yet on if the character will just be a small cameo or the overall main baddie for Venom to do battle with.
As mentioned earlier, Sony is developing the spin-off film as an R-rated genre film, so having a character like Kasady who in the comics is a serial killer who comes into contact with the alien symbiote to transform into Carnage is quite perfect. While no casting has been announced besides Tom Hardy, production is set to kick off on the film this Fall.
So who will play Carnage? Only time will tell. Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts. As always, thanks for stopping by EastCoastMovieGuys!
Venom is currently set to hit theaters on October 5th, 2018.
