Everyone! The time has finally come! One of my childhood dreams will finally happen this fall! A real X-Men TV series is coming! Fox has officially picked up Matt Nix's The Gifted for a whole 2017-2018 Season. The new series will explore the awesome world of X-Men in greater detail then we've pretty much ever seen it on screen.
While this years' Legion starring Dan Stevens on FX was also an X-Men live-action series, the show was a pretty much a self contained and unique story that could have very easily had nothing to do with X-Men universe. Other than some names of characters and random mentions of the greater X-Men world, that show pretty much stands on its own. So this will really be the first time we've seen something close to the 90's cartoon series in live-action. The very terrible attempt by Fox in the 90's with the barely remembered Generation X series does not count.
The Gifted will star a ton of pretty well known X-Men characters like Blink, Polaris, Thunderbird, and will probably feature a ton of cool cameos. Also the pilot episode was helmed by none other than X-Men movie director Bryan Singer, who's also on board as executive producer of the series.
The series will begin with a suburban couple who's lives turn upside down upon the discovery that their children possess mutant powers. While the teaser below doesn't reveal to much, it does give us our first look at some of the leads like True Blood's Stephen Moyer and some cool mutant powers.
