Gunpowder & Sky has released the official red-band trailer for the upcoming comedy, The Little Hours! Written and directed by Jeff Baena (Life After Beth) and based on The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio, and the film stars Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, and Kate Micucci as the hilariously wicked and foul-mouthed nuns wrecking havoc in their little village.
This trailer came as quite a surprise when I discovered it this morning, and I found myself laughing out loud at a preview for an upcoming comedy for the first time in a really long time. As most of you know, good comedies are not really happening these days in Hollywood. So when a film like this pops up, its quite a treat.
The film also sports an awesome comedic ensemble featuring Dave Franco, Nick Offerman, John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Fred Armisen, Jemima Kirke, Adam Pally, Jon Gabrus, Lauren Weedman, Paul Weitz, and Paul Reiser.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Little Hours:
Medieval nuns Alessandra (Alison Brie), Fernanda (Aubrey Plaza), and Ginevra (Kate Micucci) lead a simple life in their convent. Their days are spent chafing at monastic routine, spying on one another, and berating the estate’s day laborer. After a particularly vicious insult session drives the peasant away, Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly) brings on new hired hand Massetto (Dave Franco), a virile young servant forced into hiding by his angry lord. Introduced to the sisters as a deaf-mute to discourage temptation, Massetto struggles to maintain his cover as the repressed nunnery erupts in a whirlwind of pansexual horniness, substance abuse, and wicked revelry.
The Little Hours is set to hit theaters on June 28th.
