20th Century Fox, director David Leitch and of course Ryan Reynolds have officially found their big-screen Cable in the always on point Josh Brolin for their highly anticipated sequel, Deadpool 2.
Following all the awesome casting rumors of other great actors like Michael Shannon, David Harbour, Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe, and even Pierce Brosnan circling the coveted role of Nathan Summers aka Son of Cyclops, aka Cable. Brolin appears in the end has nabbed the badass role of a life time and will be a perfect "straight man" to Reynold's insanely crazy Deadpool.
Cable was co-created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson and is described as in many ways being the opposite of Deadpool: a man who is a leader and used to being obeyed, who is very controlled but with an aura of simmering violence. In the comics, Cable was from the future and was the adult son of Scott Summers, also known as the X-Man Cyclop
Additionally, sources say that Brolin has inked a four-picture deal for the part including Deadpool 2. Which means that Brolin is locked down for the likely X-Force movie, a sequel as well as a Cable solo film if people like Brolin's take on the character.
Ryan Reynolds also confirmed the casting with a super weird and funny tweet which you can check out below:
Do you love this badass casting? We sure as hell do! I mean, my freaking god! Just when you think you'll never get better casting than Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and of course the now legendary casting of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for the past two decades. We finally have our Cable in Josh Brolin. Good on you 20th Century Fox for continually out doing yourself with the X-Men universe casting.
