Following some cool social media exchanges between Superman actor Henry Cavill and director Christopher McQuarrie, Variety has now confirmed that the actor is joing Tom Cruise on his next impossible mission in the untitled Mission: Impossible 6.
The actor and director exchanged some playful back in forths before the confirmation which you can check out below:
Cavill: How can I say no to a man with such perfect hair…..
McQuarrie: excellent. Just a few caveats: must enjoy extreme heights, high speeds, motor vehicles of all varieties (especially aircraft), practical stunts, firearms, and sporadic exposition. All good?
Cavill: only if I get to fly for real
McQuarrie: I do believe I specified practical stunts. You in?
Cavill: Oh ok…..I’m in!
McQuarrie: Outstanding. Welcome aboard. Your social media account will self destruct in 5 seconds.

Variety later confirmed some minor plot details regarding Cavill's character:
Plot details are still under wraps but sources say Cavill would play some sort of a right hand to the head of Cruise’s unit.”
As huge fans of Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible franchise, we were already stoked for this one and now adding another excellent edition to the ensemble cast is only a plus.
