According to a new report from the good folks over at Variety, Warner Bros. is planning a major shake-up and restructing of its DC Film operation following the huge box office and critical disappointment of Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon's Justice League movie.
First person out the door is Jon Berg who has been running the comic book's film production division. A search is currently underway for his replacement.
The report also reveals that Ben Affleck is set to appear in the Flashpoint movie, however after that, he will no longer be donning the cape and cowl in the DC cinematic universe. As writer and director Matt Reeves has revealed that he is definitely recasting Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman in his stand-alone Batman trilogy.
While nothing is official, several rumors point Reeves wanting Jake Gyllenhaal as Affleck's replacement. Although, Mad Men actor Jon Hamm is currently campaigning for the role as well.
So yea, we're finally getting some answers. Its about time. Don't expect Jon Berg to be the only member of Warner Bros. higher ups to step down. As the shocking failure of Justice League will fall on many peoples heads.
