That's right folks, the headline above is real! The long-time rumored and in development Venom spin-off film starring Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy has finally begun production. The announcement comes via Sony Pictures' official Venom Movie Twitter account earlier this morning. The behind-the-scenes image reveals Hardy along with two unidentified crew members, one most likely being director Ruben Fleischer with the caption: “Day 1. #Venom.”
While the film is said to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe somehow. Tom Holland's Spider-man is currently not slated to appear in the film. That being said, we'll be covering this project in great detail from here and until the film's release next Fall. So stay tuned and we'll have you covered for any and all information regarding plot details and production.

While the plot is still being kept tightly under wraps, we do know that along with Hardy, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott and Scott Haze.
Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer is directing the movie from a script penned by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner and Kelly Marcel. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal are producing, with Palak Patel and Eric Fineman overseeing the project for the studio.
Venom is currently set to hit theaters on October 5th, 2018.
