Focus Features has released the trailer and poster for Thoroughbreds, the upcoming drama-thriller from writer/director Cory Finley featuring one of the final performances by the late Anton Yelchin. Check out the Thoroughbreds trailers and poster below!
Childhood friends Lily and Amanda reconnect in suburban Connecticut after years of growing apart. Lily has turned into a polished, upper-class teenager, with a fancy boarding school on her transcript and a coveted internship on her resume; Amanda has developed a sharp wit and her own particular attitude, but all in the process of becoming a social outcast. Though they initially seem completely at odds, the pair bond over Lily’s contempt for her oppressive stepfather, Mark, and as their friendship grows, they begin to bring out one another’s most destructive tendencies. Their ambitions lead them to hire a local hustler, Tim, and take matters into their own hands to set their lives straight.
Let's check out the first official trailer and poster below:
Oh man. We've heard some very good things about this film from many of our colleagues who got to check out the film earlier this year and boy does this film look excellent. We can't wait! Olivia Cooke and Anya Taylor Joy are rising stars and looking to add to their respective resumes before they each have huge films drop into theaters next year. Cooke is starring in Steven Speilberg's Ready Player One and Joy is starring in M. Night Shyamalan's sequel, Glass. So their star power is coming folks.
We must also take the time to give a heartfelt farewell to the late great, the beloved Anton Yelchin (Green Room, Alpha Dog) in one of his final roles. Rest in Peace good sir, your true potential will sadly never be known.
