That's right guys and gals, you read that headline correctly!
Following the recent announcement that Fox has picked up Matt Nix's X-Men live-action drama series. It now appears that famed X-Men movie director Bryan Singer will be directing the now highly anticipated pilot episode of the new series.
This report comes via The Hollywood Reporter, who reveal that even though the director has his next project 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea gearing up in pre-production, that he will be jumping away to helm the pilot episode for the still untitled X-Men series.
Singer will also serve as an executive producer, while Nix (Burn Notice) is penning the script and serving as the showrunner. Not much else is known about the series at this time, only that the show will be an action-adventure series focusing on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Which in-turn leads to them being forces to go on the fun from hostile government powers, in fact its been confirmed some version of the famous X-men Sentinels will play a major role.
While Singer mostly deals with directing films, he's produced several popular series and even directed episodes of House and Battle Creek.
