Paramount Pictures has just revealed the first terrifying trailer for the horror sequel Rings. The third installment in the american film adaptations of the Japanese horror film Ringu that started in 2002 with director Gore Verbinski's breakout hit The Ring starring Naomi Watts and Martin Henderson. While the second installment in 2005 was still a hit film, it was not as beloved by fans and the franchise just kind of disappeared.
Now the studio hopes to revive the franchise in the modern age with Rings starring Matilda Lutz as the doomed woman that watches the legendary video tape and embarks on a journey to discover the secrets behind the tape before her seven days are up. The film also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, and Bonnie Morgan.
