Chris Evans' Steve Rogers Is No Longer Captain America In The MCU!

As most of us have seen, at the very end of Captain America: Civil War, Chris Evans' Steve Rogers drops his iconic Captain America shield on the ground after nearly killing Tony Stark after an epic climatic battle. While many of us wondered what this would mean for the future of Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it appears we won't have to wait for Avengers: Infinity War to hit theaters for the answer.

Here’s what Joe Russo had to say in a recent interview with The Huffington Post:

“I think him dropping that shield is him letting go of that identity. [It’s] him admitting that certainly the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making.”

So Steve Rogers is no longer Captain America!

Pretty interesting right? So does this mean someone else will take the mantle of Captain America in future films? Will Steve Rogers become another character like Nomad? Most likely not and he will pick up his shield and become Captain America in epic fashion at some point in Avengers: Infinity War.

So what do you guys and gals think about this revelation? Do you want to see someone else become Captain America? Maybe just for a little while? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts on the future of Captain American and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th, 2018.
