What's up all you badass Spider-Man fans.....its another week and another casting announcement for Sony and Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film is set to star Tom Holland as the title character after his amazing performance as the coolest web-slinger yet the recent Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain America: Civil War. Joining Holland will be a ridiculous list of amazing actors which we have listed for you below, but today's big casting addition is The Nice Guys breakout star, the amazing young actress Angourie Rice!
According to THR, Australian actress Angourie Rice has been cast in the Jon Watts directed film and her character details are being kept tightly under wraps, so let the rabid fan speculation on who she is playing commence!
Judging by her breakout performance in The Nice Guys, she will probably play a character who is smarter beyond her years, much like her role as Ryan Gosling's daughter. If you didn't have a chance to checkout the highly under-seen film earlier in the year be sure to check it out as soon as you can, for now check out the trailer below.
So are you Spider-Man fans excited about this casting, my theory is she will play either Mary Jane Watson or Gwen Stacy in a smaller role, that will grow bigger in future installments. What are your theories? Sound off in the comments section below, thanks!
The film also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May (who also debuted in Civil War), and Michael Keaton as the villain. Plus, also confirmed to appear are pop music artist Zendaya, Michael Barbieri (The Dark Tower), Kenneth Choi (Captain America: The First Avenger), Donald Glover (Community), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), and Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation).
Spider: Homecoming is set to hit theaters on July 17th.
