NASA Fakes The Moon Landing In First Trailer & Poster For 'Operation Avalanche'

By Matt O.

"We're going to use his space movie to make sure the real space movie looks like space. Do you understand how crazy that is?!"

Lionsgate has released the first incredibly awesome trailer for the breakout indie hit this year called Operation Avalanche, a found footage/documentary/mock about the classic conspiracy theory that NASA did indeed fake the Apollo 11 moon landing in the 1960s, to beat the Russians and be the first country to land on the moon. The up and coming director of the film Matt Johnson uses such skills in the first trailer for this film, that you would assume he has been making movies for decades. If the film is as good as everyone says, Mr. Johnson is someone to look out for in the future. Check out the amazing trailer below and sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts.

"In 1967, four undercover CIA agents were sent to NASA posing as a documentary film crew. What they discovered led to one of the biggest conspiracies in American history. Operation Avalanche is the second feature film directed by filmmaker Matt Johnson, of the indie comedy The Dirties before this. The screenplay is written by Josh Boles and Matt Johnson. This was made with a very limited budget, and it first premiered in the NeXT section at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It also played at SXSW and the Hot Docs Film Festival."

Operation Avalanche hits theaters and via VOD on September 16th.
