The new issue of Entertainment Weekly continues to impress with its Comic-Con preview with a new official image from the upcoming Sci-Fi film Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets. The film is directed by acclaimed auteur director Luc Besson, who in the past has brought us cult classics like Leon The Professional and The Fifth Element. Now the master genius is at again with the Sci-Fi story that started it all, a classic graphic novel that helped influence George Lucas with Star Wars, James Cameron with Avatar and many, many more!
Along with the new image of actor Dane DeHann, Entertainment Weekly also got to speak with the actor about his upcoming role:
“It occurred to me that I had to look like I could save the universe. But luckily, it’s France. They have reasonable working hours. I would exercise in the morning and get on set by noon. It helped me mentally get into the head of the hero, but The Rock gets up much earlier than I do.”
The talented actor also spoke about the incredible effects special effects being used on the film:
“They need every second. I’ve done all my body scans and all that, so I think they have enough to computer generate me as much as they have to. I don’t think we’re doing any reshoots or anything, because I think Luc knew exactly what he wanted and got it. You can’t believe the stuff that he has in his head. It’s gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be epic for sure.”
Luc Besson and the cast will be on hand Thursday July 21st in Hall H at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, so get ready for a possible teaser and tons of details on the film next week!
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is set to hit theaters on July 21st, 2017.
