'Suicide Squad' Tracking For $125 Million Plus Opening Weekend
By Matt O.
Get ready DC Fanboys and Fangirls, its now starting to become very clear that Warner Bros. and DC Films' highly anticipated film Suicide Squad is generating massive interest according to official pre-release tracking which is being reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the epic report, the DC anti-hero film is tracking to open with an enormous $125 million in its North American debut over the August 5th to 7th weekend. With some other sources saying the film could do $135 million to as much as the opening weekend of Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice which brought in $166 million.
The excitement at this point for Suicide Squad is almost unbearable, and who knows what we are going to get to see next weekend at Comic-Con! I'm buying my tickets tomorrow when the pre-sale begins, what about you? My personal guess for the box office is $154 million opening weekend. Are you ready for the Bad Guys? Sound off in the comments section with your predictions, your anticipation level, and just any cool thoughts you have about Suicide Squad.
"It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
Suicide Squad is the next film in the DC Extended Universe following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Written and directed by David Ayer and the film stars Viola Davis, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz , Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, and Karen Fukuhara in her feature film debut."
Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters on August 5th.
