Warner Bros. via Total Film magazine has released a couple of cool new images for their highly anticipated film Suicide Squad; plus actor Joel Kinnaman who plays the leader of Task Force X Rick Flagg in the film talks a little bit about some of his character's challenges during the movie saying:
"He wants to solve this with his team of operators that he can trust, but now he has these psychopaths that do no follow orders. Over the course of the movie he sees how effective they are and also that they have a moral foundation that they stand on.”
Kinnaman also spoke a little about one of the lesser known characters in the film, Katana who is played by actress Karen Fukuhara, who actually has a history with Flagg and is a fierce warrior the wields the Soultaker sword, which captures the souls of its victims. Apparently the two characters also have some history, but is only hinted at in the film saying:
“She’s got my back. We have a history but it doesn’t really get explained.”
Fukuhara hereself, also teased her character's emotional journey over the course of the film:
“Her journey is trying to find people she can trust. She starts off a lone wolf, but by the end of the movie she’s really become part of a family.”
"It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?"
Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
