Ubisoft's 'The Division' Movie To Star Jake Gyllenhaal
By Matt O.
Ubisoft's fastest selling video game to date The Division is becoming a Movie and now they have attached one of the best working actors in Hollywood today to star and produce! This is according to Justin Kroll over at Variety who broke the news late yesterday afternoon, who also revealed that the studio is looking for a screen writers to pen the script.
While nothing much else is known about the film, just have Gyllenhaal involved in the project is a huge sing of confidence, the guy has just been killing it over the past few years in every role he is in. In Nightcrawler he was horribly snubbed for an Academy Award nomination and his roles in Zodiac and Prisoners were simply stunning to say the least. Not to mention his scene stealing turn in Everest. It should be very interesting to see how this project progresses.
Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts, thanks!
Here’s a synopsis of the videogame:
"The Division takes place in New York three weeks after a lethal virus, released on Black Friday, has swept through the city. One by one, basic services have failed. Society has collapsed into chaos. The President invokes Presidential Directive 51, and The Division, a top-secret unit of self-supporting tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives, Division agents are trained to operate independently of command in this type of emergency situation. When the lights go out, their mission begins."
The Division does not yet have a release date.
