Sony Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Ron Howard's Dan Brown adaptation of Inferno. Tom Hanks is back again as Robert Langdon for third time, this time teaming up with actress Felicity Jones star of the upcoming Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One.
As I said yesterday in my sneak peek write up for this film, the highly underrated "scene stealing" actor Ben Foster is co-starring and is also third billed on the cast, but he is nowhere to be seen in the trailer.
Also of note, it appears he is the voice over at the beginning of the teaser trailer. It should be interesting to see how he is used in this sequel. The film also stars Omar Sy, and Irrfan Khan.
Check out the teaser trailer below and then sound off in the comments with your thoughts.
Here’s the official synopsis:
"Academy Award® winner Ron Howard returns to direct the latest bestseller in Dan Brown’s (Da Vinci Code) billion-dollar Robert Langdon series, Inferno, which finds the famous symbologist (again played by Tom Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot."
Inferno is set to hit theaters on October 12th, 2016.
