In a recent interview with ComingSoon.net, actor Michael Fassbender talked a little about his dual roles he'll be playing in mext years prequel/sequel Alien: Covenant.
He reprises his original role as David, the rogue robot last seen decapitated, but functioning, and piloting lone survivor Elizabeth Shaw to the homeworld of humanity’s creators, the Engineers. He also plays a new android named Walter, who aids the colonist couples aboard the Covenant, and describes him as basically a bug-free and “straightforward” version of the more individualistic David.
“I think Walter’s a real different kettle of fish. David was definitely a work-in-progress, somewhat of a prototype I suppose. The elements of him that were the human elements I think people found a little disturbing, so Walter’s more of a straightforward robot. Pretty logical, much more of a servant without the ego.”
It'll be really interesting to see how Fassbender handles the role this time around as he is clearly the biggest movie star in this one as compared to when Ridley Scott's Prometheus came out a few years back.
