What's up all you awesome DC fans! Looks like we may have a little scoop for ya!
Late yesterday afternoon, reports starting circulating online that actor Armie Hammer has joined Warner Bros. and DC Films DCEU. While there wasn't much to go on besides a couple of reports saying The Social Network and Man From U.N.C.L.E star had recently starting have some unique Twitter activity.
Noticing that CCO of DC Comics and co-head of DC Films, Geoff Johns starting following Hammer on Twitter yesterday. Shortly after that it was also revealed Joe Manganiello who was recently cast as Deathstroke in the DCEU had also begun following the actor. Coincidence? Maybe? However highly unlikely.
An actor like Armie Hammer has been on the cusp of break through stardom for years with high profile roles as Disney's failed Lone Ranger film and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. He has also went the critically acclaimed route with incredible turns in The Social Network and this year's troubled slave uprising "want-to-be" epic The Birth of a Nation. He can also be seen in one of the year's best film's Nocturnal Animals and one of the year's best indie's Free Fire which won't see an official release until March, 2017.
All that being said, the guy is super talented and just the right look is the perfect age to be cast as a new superhero or maybe even a villain in the Warner Bros. new DC Cinematic Universe aka the DCEU. Also to note, this would not be the actors first time dealing with Warner Bros. and DC Films as the actor had already been cast way back in 2009 as Bruce Wayne/Batman in George Miller's (Mad Max: Fury Road) cancelled Justice League: Mortal film.
While of course you should always take reports like this with a huge grain of salt until we get some type of confirmation from somewhere, fans speculation has already begun to run rampant casting Armie has our new Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern. Which I must admit is a pretty cool choice, Hammer has the acting chops obviously and he has a unique sense of comedic timing which could serve the character well and differentiate him enough from Ryan Reynolds overly comedic turn a few years back.

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
