In a recent interview actor Jason Momoa who is playing Aquaman in the highly anticipated Justice League movie revealed how he himself connected with the man behind Aquaman, Arthur Curry, who is mostly known as an outsider to the wold about the surface of the ocean. Momoa explains below, how it was a struggle for himself to fit in growing p in rural Iowa, and look a lot different than most people around the area.
“How I identify with that is kind of being…a bit of an outcast. You see, he wasn’t really too accepted…I wasn’t too accepted … There weren’t any races where I grew up. There’s no Chinese, no Mexican, no Black. I grew up in Iowa. I graduated with like 100 people … I was born in Hawaii, so I would go see my father…[I] just wasn’t accepted on the local side by some people because I wasn’t raised in Hawaii. I identify as being that outcast and not really fitting into two different worlds.”
Interesting comments, its really interesting when actors such as Momoa reveal certain things like this about there innerself and there very human struggles. A person like Momoa who will within the next year have literally millions of young kids looking to him as role model, its always cool when we have someone who is so down to earth.
