Box Office: 'Fast & Furious 7' Becomes Fastest Film To Reach $1 Billion Globally!

Hello and welcome back to the box office weekend report!
No surprises here folks, Furious 7 in its third weekend of release speeds to another $29 million bringing its domestic total to $294.4 million!
The big story here is the fact that Furious 7 became the fastest film in history to reach the $1 billion globally club. The film has reached this impressive milestone in just a little over 17 days of release which is extremely impressive and now makes the film the seventh biggest film of all time. The film will definitely continue to rise up the ranks in the next few weeks.
Coming in second place this weekend was the new Kevin James comedy Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 making a decent $24 million. The first film opened a little bit higher with $31.8 million about 6 years ago.
Debuting in third place this weekend was the social media horror movie Unfriended making an impressive $16 million on an insanely low budget of just $1 million. The studio behind Unfriended the Blumhouse production company has been making a killing over the past few years producing films on low budgets like this!
Rounding out the top five coming in at number 4 this weekend is the animated family friendly film Home bringing in another $10.3 million adding to its $142.6 million domestic take! Finally we have the newest Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Longest Ride in it second weekend taking in another $6.8 million bringing its domestic total to $23.5 million.
