Report: 'Thor: Ragnarok' Script Is Marvel's Darkest Yet & Will Feature The Valkyries!!

By Matt O'Bryant

What's up guys and gals,

The Ragnarok script is dark, very dark!  Sounds awesome right?  Our thoughts exactly.

The good folks over at Birth.Movies.Death. are reporting that they have heard from their sources that the script was so dark they had to hire a comedy director to balance out the tone with all the previous Marvel films.  Check out what BMD said below:

According to Birth.Movies.Death.:

It’s so serious, so dark, that Marvel decided to hire a comedy director to bring a touch of lightness to the proceedings. Yes, Taika Waititi was hired to balance out the grimness of the script and bring it tonally a little closer to what Marvel fans have come to expect.

They go on to state that their sources have not only confirmed the previous rumor of Hulk appearing in the film that he will actually be a lead, that the film will be a buddy film of sorts.

Waititi may yet be joined by another writer to help brighten the corners of Ragnarok while maintaining writer Christopher Yost’s apocalyptic vibe. One way that may happen is to up the humor between Thor and Hulk, who I have been led to believe will be not only appearing in the movie but will be playing a major role. The two heroes will be taking a cosmic road trip together, Hope and Crosby style.

They also have some knowledge of a certain group of people appearing in the film called The Valkyrie and that a character simply known as Valkyrie will be introduced and eventually join the Avengers down the road.

Along the way they’re going to meet Valkyries, as you might expect from a story about the Norse end of the world, but my source tells me that besides the Valkyries (generic) the film might launch Marvel superheroine Valkyrie into the Cinematic Universe. First introduced in the pages of The Avengers, Valkryie, aka Brunnhilde, was a longtime member of The Defenders, hung out with Doctor Strange and had Norse goddess The Enchantress as her enemy.

Leave us your thoughts below in the comments.  How dark do you want Marvel to go?  Is bringing the Valkyrie character into the mix a good move?

Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waititi.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
