What's up guys and gals,
Looks like there is still more X-Men set to appear in Bryan Singer's highly anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse. The new X-Men to be featured in the film is none other than Fred Dukes aka The Blob who over the years in the comics has been an enemy to the X-Men and a part of Magneto's The Brotherhood of Mutants.
This news came to us over the weekend from Benjamin Malartre who visited the set and saw footage of the film. Afterwards Mr. Malartre posted this on his Instagram, check it out below.
Back from the #footage of #akkaba #xmenapocalypse at #montreal #mtl #canada #quebec 4 crazy days with #benhardy #JenniferLawrence #cody aka #nightcrawler and #thebeast #beast with also #blob too man I will remember those days for the rest of my life !!! Malartre stated that The Blob is played by an unknown local French Canadian actor who actually was 500 plus pounds, no confirmation on this yet.
This is not the first time the character has appeared on the big screen. Actor Kevin Durand played The Blob in the critically panned X-Men: Origins Wolverine. In the film he was an ally and a friend to Wolverine, he had not yet became an enemy to the X-Men as he is usually seen in the comics.
The Blob is quite powerful, he is usually super strong and generally indestructible.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27th, 2016
