What's up guys and gals,
We all know by now that Spider-Man will be making an appearance in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, but how big of a role the web-slinger will play in the film is still up for speculation. Along with not knowing the role Spider-Man will play in the story for the film, another big question on all the fan's minds is what version of the Spider-Man suit Peter Parker will be wearing in the film. There have been rumors of a more modern approach to the suit with it just being a mask and a back pack, you know stuff that a 15 year old high-schooler would have laying around. Then there are the Tony Stark giving him the Iron Spider suit theories.
Just to wet everyone's appetites, directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently discussed some details about Spider-Man's suit with Super Interssante and we have the best quotes for everyone to check out below:
SUPER: There are many rumors are talking about two, three uniforms in the film. What can you talk about it?
Anthony Russo: Well, we did a lot of research and experimented with the looks of each character. We went through the same process with Spider-Man. We knew it was going to be someone young and it was very important to us because we wanted to give this essence to the character, because he is someone unique to the Marvel Universe. Tom Holland is an amazing Spider-Man, people will love him. It was a very experimental process, placing him with the other actors, especially with Downey Jr., we had to learn as we worked. And we’re very happy with the final result. We’re still working on a few things, like the costume. He’s not ready yet because so much will be produced with special effects.
SUPER: Will the film show the red-and-gold costume that was made amous in the Civil War comic?
AR: The film will show a mix of what everyone is waiting for with a little twist. So yeah, that’s all I can say.
Interesting right? It appears from these comments that there is an insane possibility that the Russo Brothers may actually have Spider-Man suited up as the Iron Spider during the film at some point. Just so everyone knows what we are talking about, the Iron Spider is a suit that Tony Stark designed using Stark Tech to help Spider-Man fight in a battle.
All of this is very interesting to say the least, and I wonder if its really possible that we could see Tom Holland in the classic Spider-Man gear, Iron Spider, and as Peter Parker. Supposedly his role in the story is going to be very small, so I'm just not sure how all of this is going to play out.
We will keep you up-to-date as more details develop on the Captain America: Civil War. Leave us your thoughts on how cool it would be to see Iron Spider in the film.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6th, 2016.
