Movie Reviews: 'Cinderella'

Cinderella (2015)

By Jacob Fisher

Cinderella follows a young girl named Cinderella (Lily James) who’s is put through some hard times and to make it even worse she have to deal with her evil step mom (Cate Blanchett) and her evil step sisters (Sophie McShera & Holliday Grainger). But one day a guy comes into the picture that that make her think that everything can change for her. And that guy is the prince (Richard Madden) who’s getting pressure from his dad (Derek Jacobi) to get marry so he can one day be fit to take over the kingdom. It’s based about on the original Disney cartoon which is beloved by many.

Lilly James is beautiful as Cinderella. She captured everything about the cartoon Cinderella and put it over in live action. I know it’s a little early to call this but I would like to see Cate Blanchett nominated for best actress at the Oscars next year because she blew me away with how good she played the evil step mom.

The score is beautiful and fitted as well as the shoe on Cinderella foot. As soon as I got out of the movie I brought the soundtrack on Amazon. Each scene looked magic and as grand as the cartoon is. If you were a fan of the cartoon you’re going to love the live action version.
