Chloe Moretz Is Set To Star In 'The Little Mermaid' Live Action Adaptation

By Matt O'Bryant

What's up guys and gals,

Now we all new this was coming sooner rather than later, a live adaptation of the beloved animated film The Little Mermaid.  The project first got some attention earlier in the year when acclaimed director Sofia Coppola left the project due to creative differences.

At the time there was no lead actress cast, but now it appears we have our lead, the talented and beautiful "Hit Girl" Ms. Chloe Grace Moretz has been cast as the title character.  Get the details below.

According to Variety:

Chloe Moretz is set to play the title character in Working Title and Universal’s “The Little Mermaid” retelling with Richard Curtis in talks to pen the script.

Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce. Liza Chasin and Amelia Granger will executive produce.

Not much is known about how this version will compare to previous versions of the Hans Christian Andersen story, which follows a mermaid who wished to become human after falling in love with a man she saved from drowning.

While the search for a new director continues, it's cool to see them cast such a talent, I just wonder how this film is going to play out in live action.  With all the classic underwater scenes and singing involved.  Lets hope for the best.
