In a badass new interview with Empire, director of Suicide Squad David Ayer revealed and confirmed some very interesting tidbits about the very controversial film. In the interview Ayer reveals that there are roughly six or seven completed version of the film he calls an "anarchic punk rock art movie". Apparently every different cut of the film has a unique name and slightly different style, the one that made it into theaters is known as the "Dossier Cut".
The director also goes onto confirm the fan theory about Jared Leto's Joker murdering Robin and Batman whooping the shit out of him, saying this:
"This is sort of my personal thing and maybe less about a larger connection. But Joker killed Robin and Batman basically smashes his teeth out and locks him up in Arkham Asylum. It’s in the asylum where Joker would have done the ‘damaged’ tattoo as a message to Batman saying, 'You’ve damaged me. I was so beautiful before and now you’ve destroyed my face.' That’s where the grill comes from."

Hopefully we get several or all of these cuts on the Blu-ray release. Much like the recent incredible release of all the Blade Runner cuts in one collection.
