UPDATE CONFIRMED!! Joe Manganiello Is Playing Deathstroke In 'The Batman'!

UPDATE! This report below by our writing staff from August 30th has now been confirmed! Great work gentlemen! The Wall Street Journal has now confirmed our findings!

Following yesterday's surprise reveal by director and The Batman star Ben Affleck, revealing to the world the awesome test footage of Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke on the set of Justice League. Rumors began to spread like wild fire on who could possibly be playing the big-screen version of the legendary villain.

Following that reveal, The Wrap did a follow-up report, confirming that Deathstroke will indeed be the main villain of Ben Affleck's Solo The Batman!

Here's where we get into the interesting stuff, Justice League is currently filming the United Kingdom. It's also been confirmed by various news outlets that Joe Manganiello recently went to the UK, and was even asked why he was there, and instead of just saying vacation or whatever he said it was for a different role with a different film.

Forbes, Variety, and Vanity Fair are also both reporting on the high possibility of Manganiello playing the role of Deathstroke as a cameo appearance in Justice League and as the main villain in The Batman.

Vanity Fair also notes that very suspiciously Joe Manganiello started following the Justice League director Zack Snyder on Twitter.

Following all that, a few days a go, while in the UK, the actor himself posted a new photo of him and his beautiful wife Sofia Vergara having Tea. Notice the cool new hair cut and facial hair that resembles that of Slade Wilson from the comics and The CW show Arrow.

With pretty much all the major trades and news outlets speculating on this casting and all but confirming it, it appears that unless something changes these rumors appear to be leaning towards true.

Very interesting stuff to say the least and while I'm still not 100 percent sold on Joe Manganiello being Slade Wilson in the DC Extended Universe, he seems to be the only major star that fits the bill right now.

So what are your thoughts? Do you think Joe Manganiello will make a great fit? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts. As always thanks for stopping by EastCoastMovieGuys!

The Batman does not yet have a release date.
