Official Trailer For The Weinstein Company's 'Lion' Film Starring Dev Patel Released

The Weinstein Company has just released the first official trailer for their upcoming film Lion starring Dev Patel. The incredible looking film is already a front runner for awards consideration this year and will premiere at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) later this year. The film is based on the true story of a man who only knows his adopted parents and goes looking to find his real parents and home on the other side of the world in India. Rooney Mara, Nicole Kidman, David Wenham, and Sunny Pawar also stars on the powerful looking film.

Here’s the official synopsis for Lion:

"Five-year-old Saroo gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of Kilometers across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home."

Lion is set to hit theaters on November 25th.
