It's official folks, we have our new Mary Jane Watson!!
According to The Wrap, actress and singer Zendaya, has officially been revealed to be our new Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming Jon Watts directed Spider-Man: Homecoming!
The actress was actually revealed to be part of cast way back in March before principle photography began on the film. The cast of Zendaya as Mary Jane is another strong move by Marvel Studios to diversify their strong cast across all of their films.
The folks over at Vulture have also chimed in saying that she is definitely playing Mary Jane, but that it was supposed to be a surprise towards the end of the film.
We also reached out to Sony, but they had no comment.
Much like the Flash Thompson story we broke last month which you can READ HERE, we are really digging what Marvel Studios is trying to do with their films and especially this upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Having Flash Thompson and Mary Jane Watson, who are traditionally played by Tall Muscular Blond White Guy and a Red headed White girl respectively, is really some bold casting choices!
I'm excited! What about you guys and gals? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts on the upcoming Spider-Man: Reboot! As always thanks for stopping by EastCoastMovieGuys!
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to hit theaters on June 7th, 2017.
