New 'Suicide Squad' Details; Plus 23 New High-Res Stills From The Film

Along with the release, of a bunch of cool Suicide Squad set visit reports, that we will be covering throughout the day and tomorrow! Warner Bros. and DC Films has just released High Definition version of 23 stills from the upcoming David Ayer directed film. While we have seen many of these shots before, its the first time we have seen them in such High defintion!

Also here are some cool new details about the film courtesy of Collider:

  • Suicide Squad features a number of flashback sequences involving The Joker and Harley Quinn, but the present day story takes place after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
  • Midway City is located between Gotham and Metropolis.
  • Despite the fact that the movie revolves around so many characters, Ayer believes that Deadshot is the main one. He specifically wrote the role for Will Smith.
  • The Joker was originally supposed to wear his classic purple suit. That changed after Jared Leto signed on to play the character.
  • Joker and Harley are both being held in Arkham Asylum.
  • Scott Eastwood is indeed playing a Navy SEAL named GQ, who is apparently an original character.
  • There’s a love story between Rick Flag and June Moone a.k.a. the Enchantress.
  • Mad Max: Fury Road stunt coordinator Guy Norris worked on the project as a second unit director.
  • Ayer worked with Geoff Johns to write some of the characters.

It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Viola Davis, and Ben Affleck, Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 5th, 2016.
