By ECMG Staff

It looks like we finally have our first look at actress Sofia Boutella (Kingsman) as the ancient queen turned mummy in the new Tom Cruise starring The Mummy Reboot hitting theaters next summer. The new film will kick off a series of new movies that are all set to take place within the same shared "monster cinematic universe". Check out the cool set pics that come courtesy of the great folks over at Just Jared below and then sound off in the comments section with your thoughts.

Here's the synopsis:

"Though safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Boutella) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension."

The film also stars Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (American Crime Story), and Russell Crowe as the film’s version of Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde.

The Mummy will open in U.S. theaters on June 9th, 2017, followed by Untitled Universal Monster Franchise Films on April 13th, 2018 and February 15th, 2019.
