New 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Retro Promo Invites You To "Follow In The Footsteps Of En Sabah Nur"

By Matt O.

With promotion for X-Men: Apocalypse getting ready to kick into high gear, the X-Men Movies Twitter page release a super cool retro viral video earlier this morning. The promo is done like an old fake documentary about the villain Apocalypse played by Oscar Isaac and his rise to power. The short little documentary is engaging to say the least, and so far 20th Century Fox has done a great job with their marketing campaign for this film. We should be getting a new trailer very soon, so keep you fingers crossed for that to drop any day now. Sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on the video.

"Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction."

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit theaters on May 27th.
