Ryan Reynolds Says 'X-Force' Movie Is A Priority

By Matt O'Bryant

While it has long been rumored that an X-Force movie is coming, nothing concrete has ever really been confirmed. Hardcore X-Men fans have long been clamoring for an X-Force film, but the problem has always been 20th Century Fox's belief that mainstream movie audiences wouldn't understand what the hell an X-Force movie was or any other X-Men spinoff film for that matter.

Well times are a changing and with the impending release of the mega blockbuster Deadpool, hitting theaters this Friday.

The success of Deadpool is almost guranteed at this point, and the film is receiving overwhelming critical praise from critics and fans alike. 20th Century Fox will soon want to start expanding and capitalizing on any and all X-Men properties they can get to the big screen. Especially if they want to compete with Marvel Studios and Warner Bros' DC films.

With all that being said, it's no surprise that actor Ryan Reynolds just spoke about an X-Force movie briefly when talking with Filmstarts over the weekend. The actor had this to say:

“In the future I think, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot, and maybe X-Force. X-Force is really my priority. I really want to get that in.”

Let's hope it happens sooner rather than later! How badass would it be to see the X-Force on the big screen? All they have to do is introduce Cable in one of the next planned films and you already have a big-screen mixture of X-Men that could work.

How about this team for an X-Force movie Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Archangel (Ben Hardy), and whoever they cast as the legend Cable. Sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

Deadpool hits theaters this Friday on February 12th.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27th, 2016.

The Final Wolverine hits theaters in 2017.
