Will Smith Says 'Bad Boys III' Is Definitely On The Way

"We Ride Together, We Die Together, Bad Boys For Life"

Last year Sony Pictures set release dates for Bad Boys III and IV. At the time of that announcement it was unclear if Will Smith or Martin Lawrence would be returning to the franchise. There were rumors of Smith just being on board as a producer and the series bringing in some up and coming young actors to play as the next generation of "Bad Boys".

This obviously did not sit well with hardcore fans of the series, and there was a bit of an outcry in the fanboy community. Well now it looks as though things are going to work out, while making an appearance on BBC Radio 1Xtra Smith addressed the topic.

I saw Martin [Lawrence] a few weeks ago. I hadn’t seen him for about two years. We just looked at each other, and we hugged, and in that moment, we knew we were making another Bad Boys. We’re definitely doing another one.

While there hasn't really been much more clarification from the studios, last we heard director Joe Carnahan was in talks to write and direct Bad Boys III, taking over for Michael Bay. While that's all we have on the Bad Boys III news front today, check back here at EastCoastMovieGuys for more news on the project as we will be following it very, very closely.

Currently Bad Boys III is set to hit theaters on February 17th, 2017, followed by Bad Boys IV on July 3rd, 2019. While we wait for some answers, check out one of the funniest scenes ever from Bad Boys II below.
