'The Purge: Election Year' Trailer Is Here & Frank Grillo Is Back In Action

By Matt O'Bryant

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have released the first trailer for their highly anticipated The Purge: Election Year, the third chapter in the "Purge" franchise. The first two Purge films were huge successes, which were both films shot on very modest budgets and have combined together to earn more than $200 million world wide. The trailer looks awesome and appears to be a great follow-up to Purge: Anarchy, with Frank Grillo returning as badass Leo Barnes. Check out the trailer below and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn…or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.
