Ben Affleck Talks Directing A Solo 'Batman' Film

By Matt O'Bryant

While it's still not quite confirmed, there have been a lot of rumors and speculation on the prospect of Ben Affleck directing and starring in his own solo Batman film over the past couple of years. With many industry insiders suspecting that one of the bonuses/reasons for signing up to play the masked vigilante in the new DC Cinematic universe was the ability to helm his own Batman film sometime in the near future.

Interestingly enough Affleck recently spoke with USA TODAY about the topic and had this to say.

“I’ll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this. And in working with (Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder) and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale."

While I'm pretty sure that Affleck is definitely going to direct the first solo film, nothing is yet confirmed and until then comments like the one above just leads to more speculation. I really hope we get some type of confirmation sooner, rather than later. Leave us your thoughts on this topic down below, is Affleck the best fit? Why or why not?
