Classic Trailers: 'Get Shorty'

By Matt O'Bryant

Hello Everyone and welcome back,

This is something new i'm going to start posting it will be weekly or bi-weekly not sure yet but each time I pick a trailer that is one of my all time favorite films, and will discuss it a little bit, I love trailers and when I go back and watch the trailers of films I grew with it always gives me that nostalgic filling.  Hope other people get that feeling too while checking out these post.

My First Pick is the classic 'Get Shorty' from 1995, Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and starring John Travolta, Gene Hackman, Rene Russo, Dennis Farina, and Danny DeVito.  There is also a small supporting role by James Gandolfini which was pre-sopranos.

"A mobster travels to Hollywood to collect a debt and discovers that the movie business is much the same as his current job."

When I first saw this film I was only 10 years old and at the time a lot of concepts in the film probably went over my head, but I loved the film so much and just thought it was so funny and badass at the same time.  This film arrived during the height of John Travolta's second coming as a star, as a kid I just thought he was so cool in this film playing the role of Chili Palmer.  Plus you get top notch performances from everyone else in the cast and DeVito gives a perfect silly performance that looks to me is kind of the basic concept for the character Frank that he plays in 'Its always Sunny in Philadelphia'.

As always thanks for checking us out, please Like and Share us on Facebook or any which way you can, thanks for your support.
