Breaking!! Roberto Orci Out As Director of Star Trek 3!!

By Matt O'Bryant

Hello Everyone,

Its official Roberto Orci is out as director of the much anticipated Star Trek 3, after years of working on the new Star Trek franchise it was speculated that Orci was a lock for the director's chair in the 3rd installment of the franchise.  Orci was the co-writer on the first two Star Trek and Star Trek:  In to Darkness, and also produced.  However Orci had stated earlier that Paramount was waiting to see a script before making any decisions.  I guess we can assume now that they didn't like his script, although it is being reported by Deadline that Orci will remain on as a producer.

After J.J. Abrams departure; leaving the franchise to go off and direct a little saga called Star Wars it has left a huge whole in the franchise with production supposedly coming up early next year on this new installment the team at Paramount have to be looking quickly to find a director to take over the franchise.  Rumors are abound that they want Edgar Wright to now take over, but its all speculation at the moment.
